Photography has always been a love of mine. I grew up taking pictures of me and my friends skating. As I got older, I was able to take live shots of many great bands (many opportunities coming from my time at SLUG Magazine and as a booking agent) including AFI, Rancid, Transplants, Street Dogs, Thursday, Brand New, Jimmy Eat World, Rilo Kiley, Modest Mouse, Billy Idol, Bouncing Souls, Thrice, Coheed & Cambria and the list goes on and on.
For a time I also shot a lot of family portraits, engagements, bridals, weddings and receptions. Once I started my path down the road of graphic design, I had less and less time for commissioned jobs and my photography instead went from these types of shoots to product and portfolio shoots. I’ve always felt that being able to apply principles from many different art mediums allows you to see and create things in unique ways, no matter what medium you are currently working with.
